Hunting.

This weekend was one of my favorites in October. The first weekend of October is the Elk hunt for us. We get together with a group of about 15 people and go up to a cabin by Kamas. We spend the whole weekend up there hunting, eating and just hanging out. Before I met Colby I had never been hunting in my life but I actually really enjoy the atmosphere! So this year on the first morning we woke up at about 5:30 and headed up the canyon. It was snowing really hard and had been snowing through the whole night so the roads were not in the best condition. It was a pretty interesting morning which consisted of one of the trucks getting hit by another hunter, chains being put on the wheels, high centered trucks, and then another one in our group got high centered but the rest of the group had left so they had to get them selves out. Which ended with a no longer 4 wheel drive Trial Blazer... kind of a bummer, But my favorite of the morning.... We were going up a trail and all of the sudden 5 or more cow elk walk right out in the open... then... a big bull elk, Best part about this is everyone just watched him walk on by.. hahahahahha!!! Nobody had their guns ready and everyone was so out of it that once he past and everyone realized what had happened it turned into a moment of chaos. so great. It stopped snowing that afternoon but the roads were still pretty crazy. I had such a blast this year and I am already counting down the days till next year! Hopefully the boys will have better luck on the deer hunt at the end of October.
